Krav Maga Today
Krav Maga is currently used on a day-to-day basis by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) including their Special Forces Units, Israeli Police and Internal Security Branches. Krav Maga has been adopted by various elite forces around the world, including the FBI, CIA, DEA, SWAT, the US Armed Forces, US Marshals etc. More recently, Krav Maga has been made a part of the curriculum for Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers.

Basic principles
In Krav Maga, there are no hard-and-fast rules. It is not a sport, and there are no competitions. All the techniques focus on maximum efficiency in real-life conditions. Krav Maga generally assumes a no quarter situation; the attacks and defenses are intended to inflict the most pain possible on the opponent in the least
amount of time. Groin strikes, head butts, and other efficient and potentially brutal attacks are emphasized.

FIGHTO Self Defence System

About FIGHTO Defence System
During the past 35 years I have been training, I discovered at an early point that each martial art had it’s weakness. Kick Boxing was great for closing the distance and landing a powerful kick. But it required room to move to throw those kicks. If an attack occurred in a crowded bar, there was little that could be done without also kicking innocent bystanders. The moment the fight went to the floor, the Kick Boxing was useless. If a fight went to the floor the Judo, Ninjitsu or Silat were fantastic to defend yourself with, but they didn’t do a lot in the situation where it wasn’t one on one, where the attacker’s mates were there to jump on your head repeatedly the moment you got the better of him. For this reason this system has emphasis on the three main areas of combat, distance (Striking) Close Quarters (Bone/Joint Destruction) and obviously when the fight goes to the floor, how to get off the floor as quickly as possible to avoid being trodden on by the other attackers.
In 2011 I began my research into what makes a Martial Arts technique effective in a ‘Real Self Defence’ situation.
As a result of this research, I have been able to identify some of the most appropriate techniques from the styles of Martial Arts that I have studied and bring them all together into one system of Self Defence.
Many of these techniques are the techniques that have been forgotten in a lot of styles as they’re not needed in modern day Martial Arts training. Infact if you go to the website of any Martial Arts sporting event be it MMA, Kick Boxing, etc, and look at the list of ‘Fouls’ or ‘Banned Techniques’ for those events, you will see some of the more basic techniques taught in this system. These techniques have been banned for one reason, they work!
When Studying this system it has been seen that someone can go from having no defensive ability to being able to defend themselves against the typical thug in just a few short months.
This system has been devised to enable anyone, regardless, age, gender, fitness level, etc, to be capable of defending themselves in a real situation, in a very short space of time.
This system incorporates some of the most effective techniques from NINE different styles of martial arts to form a single system of Self Defence suitable for real life situations.
In addition to the techniques taken from the nine styles of martial arts studied, the system is constantly being upgraded as the instructor learns more.
(Yes after 28 years studying Martial Arts, there is still more to learn.
What Techniques are Covered?
Striking Techniques
Striking techniques for real combat are different then what you see in the movies are or on TV. They need to be simple, quick, effective and devastating. The SDS Manual teaches you simple and powerful strikes that ANYONE can employ and be effective with.
Standing Defense
Learn to easily disable and smash your opponent with combat proven throws, takedowns and joint breaks that anyone can use and master right away.
Ground Fighting Defense
Over 90% of all altercations go to the ground, don’t be one of those people who ignore ground fighting. Learn the devastating and effective ground fighting tactics and skills from modern combat ju-jitsu techniques.
Weapons Defense
Most attackers, if not all attackers carry a weapon. Whether it is a concealed knife, a weapon of opportunity, or a handgun – you need to know how to defend against it. The SDS Combat System gives you simple and devastating responses to take out your opponent that will leave him stunned, disabled and broken.
Every day we face the risk of being attacked. Attacked by the street robbers, home intruders, rapists and violent persons of other sort. If you, your relative or a friend are attacked, you have a right to ward off an attack by using a force. According to the terms of law, the reasonable use of force somebody need for protection against the use of unlawful force by other person, is called “self-defense”. This definition is quite simple and easy to understand, but we avoid to use it due to its evident scantiness.
The real self-defense is actually the complicated polyhedral conception which involves lots of various aspects. In a broad context we can consider self-defense as a person’s ability to resist different kinds of negative influence that somebody tries to exercise upon him (her). Repelling an attack of a street robber, shooting at a burglar, preventing Internet attack, responding to verbal abuser, exposing a fraud, surviving terrorist attack, showing political protest against antisocial law – it all can be referred to self-defense. Self-defense plays a great part in everybody’s life, but we often don’t give a proper weight to it. Self-defense embraces a huge variety of skills we use not only in particular defensive situations but in a thousand events of our daily routine.

To resist a negative external influence every self-defender must have a kind of inner core which gives him a power, makes him being strong in front of agressor’s eyes. You must be strong to say ’em “Hands off! Go away from me!” It’s not a matter of physical strength – you have to be a person of a powerful spirit in the first place. There’s a kind of rebel in a heart of every real self-defender. The rebel who doesn’t want to take things as they are, who doesn’t allow you to bend the neck under surrounding pressure.

The following guidelines provide insight into the mind and attitude of the successful fighter.
They are an excellent conceptual framework to fight by:
Never assume anything.
Let nothing surprise you.
Never play fair.
Maximize any advantage.
Do whatever it takes to win.
Turn your killer-instinct on and be ferocious.
Use all of your attributes effectively.
Be explosively mobile while maintaining stability.
Use range and angle to your best advantage.
Control the fight.
There are no points for second place. You win or lose.
There are no rules, only self-imposed limitations.

Always keep control under your surroundings.
Show potential attackers that you guess about their intentions – it could guard you from the possible attack.
Avoid dark, deserted routes, even if they’re the shortest.
If you’re attacked, don’t lose self-control, don’t fall into panic, don’t stop thinking. Fear is one of your most dangerous enemies. The key to successful self-defense is self-control and rational thinking.
Alcohol is also one of the worst self-defender’s enemies. Don’t lose control under yourself.
Don’t expect unknown people to help you if you’re attacked or pursued. They usually don’t want to get involved in such cases.
Your weapon must be carried only in the pocket or holster, i.e. you should always be able to pull it out quickly. The bottom of your bag or purse ain’t a good place to keep a weapon.
Avoid to shake your weapon at the attacker. It can be used against you in attack if it is taken away from you. Weapons are destined to shoot, but not to menace.
Avoid to come to single combat even if your opponent is obviously weaker than you. The knife in his hand can suddenly alter the balance of power.
Don’t demonstrate your gun to police officers. Police have shot innocent people because they were holding weapons when the officers arrived.
Remember that courts often disapprove of the use of force, even justifiable, in the acts of self-defense.
Don’t pick up any suspect objects in public places. You can run against masked bomb. Don’t open suspect letters or postal wrappers.
Keep all the doors and windows in your house locked every time.
Keep a loaded gun in a secret place you can easily reach in alert.
When you’re at the parking, going to enter your car, look around with attention to make sure that no one is watching for you.
Avoid to carry the strangers even women while driving the car.
Keep yourself within the law. Police don’t like wild cowboys and terminators.
The use of deadly force may be justified only to defend against force, or the threat of force of nearly equal severity.
Then you talk to police, remember that anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
In the cities, in the streets we can everyday feel the tension. The tension that tortures our souls. Bursts of violence. Waves, billows of crimes. Mass drug abuse. Religious maniacs and neo-fascists play their deadly games. Worldwide terrorists put the thousands innocent people to barbarous slaughter, turning our planet into chaos. Politicians gamble, investing people’s souls in their evil schemes.
We live on the razor’s edge. You’re always outnumbered by the bastards till the final day of your life.

No chance to get out of this damned deadlock?
Hey, man! What are you talkin’ about? Don’t surrender, hold on!
Make yourself stronger with Shahbaz Self efense System! Let’s fight back all the bastards together!
We’ll tell you how to defend yourself. Go ahead! Let’s talk about self-defense now.

More about FIGHTO FDS

Uncooperative Partners – Every technique we practice will be trained against completely uncooperative partners. Initial training is cooperative and low intensity, progressing to high intensity against a partner who is entirely uncooperative.
Footwork – There are no stances in Here, only footwork. With every offensive or defensive technique, we move. An opponent is not going to stand still, and when you attack him, whether you strike him or not, he is going to move.
No Counters – We strive never to block, then counter. Most martial arts teach blocking on the opponent’s attack, and striking back on a second beat. This allows the opponent who is throwing multiple strikes the ability to continue his attack, likely hitting you with the second strike in a combination. We train to strike before, or during the opponent’s attack, not after it.
Zone Theory – Every technique we use limits the opponent’s ability to simultaneously attack or counter by means of footwork and position and/or covering and trapping. We will never stand directly in front of an opponent and punch him in the face with our head up, and other hand on our hip, for example.
Open to All Styles – We do not limit ourselves to only sport styles, only Japanese styles, only art styles, etc. We look at all martial arts and fighting methods to find the most efficient and effective techniques, training methods, and strategies. Nothing is off limits.
Self Defense Emphasis – Everything we do is viewed through a self-defense perspective. There may be multiple opponents, weapons, etc. We train to use modern weapons and anything in our environment to increase our chances of survival. There are no rules, and there is no such thing as cheating.
